Master Your Mornings!

masteryourmorningsIf I had it my way, I would make it that I could eat pancakes for breakfast every morning and lounge around till 11am.
But of course, this is not reality and if I had pancakes for breakfast everyday, I wouldn’t be able to get anything done…not to mention that I would probably get very sick and become extremely unhealthy.

Creating a morning routine that gets you in a productive mood, needs to be your ultimate goal. Like I always say, part of loving yourself is balancing your mind, body and soul and when they’re balanced, you will feel clear minded and ready to take on the day.

So lets create a Morning checklist together. I’m going to first separate mind, body and soul into three categories, and then we will combine them. Think of activities, for each category, that you love and know will help make your day fabulous.

Mind: What is an activity that puts your mind at ease? Do you like to read the paper in the mornings? Do you read a novel? Do you like to pick out your outfit and get creative? Write down a few things that help you relax.

Body: Do you stretch when you get up? Do you like to go for a walk? Do you like to go to the gym? What is a form of exercise that will help you start your morning off right? Do you have a go-to breakfast meal that makes you feel great?

Soul: Do you have an affirmation that makes your soul smile? Do you meditate? Are you able to sit in silence and enjoy the present?

Once you have created a list of activities, pick out a few from each category and bring them together in an order that will be efficient to your day.

Here is a sample of what my Morning checklist looks like:

Wake up and stretch
Drink a glass of water or Aloe Vera gel to flush out the toxins
Spend 5 mins in meditation, reciting daily affirmations.
Make a healthy breakfast with avocados. Or make a green smoothie.
Read a bit of a newspaper, magazine, or book.
Pick out an outfit that will make me shine today. – This is great to do even if your staying home. This will get your brain in the mindset to be productive.
Spend a few moments outdoors for a little fresh air and then…
Your ready for work gurrrrl! Work, work, work, work, work, work.

Do you see how I combined mind, body and soul into my morning routine? This checklist is the ultimate routine that if I complete it everyday, I know I can look forward to a happier future.

We need to start kicking ass and seizing the day and this morning checklist will be sure to help us start our day off on the right foot.
