This is a blog post written more as a reminder to myself. As I work towards this way of life, I thought I would share these ideas with you.
I am a control freak. I love things to be orderly. I like to plan out my days. I own a personalized day-planner LOL (If that doesn’t tell you how much I like to plan than I don’t know what will). So to say that I like to be in control of my life would be an understatement.
I’ve always been super goal-oriented and was taught from a very young age if you focus and work hard, you can have anything you dream.
So imagine being me and realizing that life really doesn’t work like that. Life throws you all kinds of hoops to jump through and no journey is walked in a straight line.
Every time I surrender to going with the flow life is ten times sweeter than I ever imagine.
What does “going with the flow” mean? It means that every day you wake up and you commit to being present and doing what you can to make yourself happy in this day. It means listening to your inner voice to help guide you with everything and trusting in yourself to make the right choices for you.
This doesn’t mean that we have to scrap any of our goals and dreams. We still go with the flow and work towards them. It just means that while we are working towards them, we are allowing life to happen. We are allowing mistakes to come up and changes to be made from the original plan.
I’m going through a big change in my life, so now is the perfect time to commit to going with the flow. This is a lesson that I need to learn, as I believe that going with the flow is the key to feeling content in life.
If you fight against the flow, you will continue to struggle. Life will not be as sweet and you will have a harder time being grateful for all that you have been given.
So here is my plan. For the next 30 days, I am going to actively work on going with the flow. They say it takes 30 days to create a new habit, so hopefully by the 30th day, going with the flow will come naturally to me.
I am also going to make an instagram story on the Just Love account talking about staying present and going with the flow. I may even discuss current private issues that I’m going to be releasing.
After the 30 days, I am going to write another blog about how my month has turned out. I’m going to document my feelings and experiences and share with you any future progress I will be attempting to make.
This is another chapter on my self love journey and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
